EAOP turns dreams of a university education into reality for more than 80,000 California students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds at more than 300 low-performing schools. More than one-third of the historically underrepresented students who are University of California undergraduates participated in EAOP. Here, hardworking, academically promising students who are determined to go to college get the help they need to prepare for admission to the University of California. Challenging courses, academic advising, preparation for standardized tests, Saturday and Summer Academies, and educational programs for families, informational programs in communities and programs for teachers are the foundation of EAOP. As a result, EAOP students are twice as likely to have completed UC's Subject Matter Requirements ("a-g") than other students. Most EAOP students enter the program in middle school and continue through high school graduation. EAOP Offices are located at each UC campus.
